About:

The Integrated System Plan (ISP) is a whole-of-system plan that provides an integrated roadmap for the efficient development of the National Electricity Market (NEM) over the next 20 years and beyond. The Group One Projects are the priority short term transmission projects to meet the immediate needs of the system

Role:

Coprex was engaged through the Australian Energy Market Commission to provide advice and assistance to the Energy Security Board (ESB). Under this engagement, Coprex, undertook the role of Senior Project Management Advisor reporting directly to the Chair of the ESB, Dr Kerry Schott AO, to monitor, review progress and provide advice on a number of Integrated System Plan Group One transmission projects being undertaken by transmission network service providers such as TransGrid and ElectraNet.

During the course of this engagement, Coprex represented the ESB on a working Group with senior representatives of the NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment and the Commonwealth Department of Energy and Environment, to support State and Federal Government commitments under an Underwriting Agreement with TransGrid for the Queensland NSW Interceptor augmentation project.

This engagement commenced in early 2019 and remains ongoing as the various ISP Group One projects move through their regulatory and delivery phases.
